Spritual Formation for Adults

Facilitators:

Bob McMath is Dean of the Honors College and Professor at the University of Arkansas. For many years he was a professor at Georgia Tech, where he helped establish a student leadership program incorporating principles of Servant Leadership. 

Christine Soutter is a retired teacher from Harvard where she obtained her PhD in social psychology. Chris won awards for her teaching of psychology, social analysis, writing, history of science and statistics.  She and her husband, Tony Stankus –UA librarian professor, moved to Fayetteville in 2007.

Elliott West is the Alumni Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Arkansas. Elliott specializes in the history of the American West and American Environmental History. 

Emily Bost, Deacon at St. Paul’s, is a Certified Volunteer Manager and retired Registered Nurse. She has a special interest in the support and guidance of those who are in process of discerning their “call” and life ministry.

Linda Jones is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology at the U of A. Linda has a particular interest in healing ministries, including healing touch, healing music and chaplaincy. 

Rev. Lowell E. Grisham is the rector of St. Paul’s. He serves on the board of the Seven Hills Homeless and Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families.  He’s a co-convener of the Chicago Consultation.

Laura Wilkins retired from a 20-year career with IBM. She is the Children & Family Minister at St. Paul’s and volunteer coordinator for Community Meals outreach feeding program. Laura is Past President of the Fayetteville Rotary Club and serves on boards of the Botanical Garden of Ozarks and the Ozark Literacy Council.  

Loyd Swope retired as President and Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lincoln, AR.  Loyd helped to organize the Legacy National Bank of Springdale, AR where he serves on the Board of Directors.  Loyd is also Board Chairman of Central EMS and was appointed to the Prairie Grove Battlefield Park Commission by AR Governor.

Rev. Suzanne Stoner is Associate Rector at St. Paul’s. Suzanne has a particular interest in various kinds of healing ministries as well as small group spiritual formation practices.

John Morgan and Katherine Barnhart are Benedictine Oblates of St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith, AR.

 

Spirituality and Aging

Carol Gaetjens is a recent retiree, a former academic gerontologist and social worker, and a member of St. Paul’s.

 

The Divine Feminine – It’s Place in Our Lives

Mary Sutton is a retired psychotherapist and supervisor of therapists.  Mary has a theological and lay ministry background in the Anglican Church in the UK and S. Africa. Mary joined her husband Keith and moved from the UK to NW Arkansas in 2011.
