Friday Community Meals: A New Way To Serve
St. Paul’s is launching a new Friday Community Meals opportunity—an initiative designed to meet real needs while welcoming new volunteers into our kitchen in a supportive, hands-on way.
This new ministry responds to several needs at once. First, it helps provide nutritious, ready-to-go meals for members of our food-insecure community, especially over the weekend. Second, it creates an accessible entry point for volunteers who may feel unsure about working in a commercial kitchen. No prior experience is required—just a good attitude and a willingness to serve. Volunteers will be trained and supported every step of the way.
On Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., volunteers will help prepare or reheat donated food and package meals in to-go containers. These meals are then placed in the Friendly Fridge, making them easily available to those who need them. This model also allows St. Paul’s kitchen to receive donated food from the wider community and helps reduce food waste throughout Fayetteville.
Whether you are looking for a meaningful way to serve, want to learn more about community food ministry, or simply have a few hours on a Friday morning, this is a wonderful opportunity to be part of something that makes a tangible difference.
