Dick Johnston’s Children’s Camp - July 20-25

A Camp for Kids Who’ve Walked a Hard Road—And a Chance to Help

Each summer, Dick Johnston Children’s Camp (DJCC) at Camp Mitchell offers something rare and powerful: a free week of camp for children ages 8–12 who have experienced the incarceration of a parent. These kids may live with grandparents, foster parents, or guardians—and DJCC gives them a place to just be kids, surrounded by others who understand. It’s a week filled with joy, nature, and connection.

This year’s camp runs July 20–25, and there are still a few open spots for campers. In addition to spreading the word, you can help by donating books, white t-shirts for tie-dye, or funds to support scholarships through the Camp Mitchell Scholarship Fund. You can also write letters of encouragement to campers—drop those off at St. Paul’s by July 18. To refer a camper or get involved, contact Kristi Palmer at kristipalmer2016 (at) gmail (dot) com or reach out to the church office.
