ECW Brings Back “Blue Boxes” for the United Thank Offering

ECW

A Tradition of Gratitude and Giving

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) at St. Paul’s are bringing back a beloved Episcopal tradition — the United Thank Offering (UTO). This global ministry of the Episcopal Church invites each of us to give thanks daily for God’s blessings by placing coins (or bills!) into a small blue box as an expression of gratitude.

You can find UTO blue boxes in the narthex and the church office. Take one home, keep it somewhere you’ll see often, and let it become a simple, tangible way to practice gratitude throughout your day. Every coin given represents a prayer of thanks — and together, they make a world of difference.

Next year, St. Paul’s will hold a UTO Ingathering, when we’ll bring our boxes back to church and bless the offerings. There’s no need to send funds to the address printed on the box — St. Paul’s will handle the collection and donation process.

Funds raised through UTO support projects around the world that bring hope and healing: vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities, clean water and sanitation initiatives, health fairs for low-income residents, and support for migrants, refugees, and those rebuilding their lives after incarceration. The 2026 grant focus is on justice and bridging divides.

Join the ECW in reviving this meaningful practice of everyday gratitude and generosity. For questions, contact Susan Lee Burkett at susan.lee.burkett (at) gmail (dot) com.
