Juan García Artist Diploma Recital – April 28

April 28, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. • Church

St. Paul’s is delighted to host a recital by Juan García on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Juan is a beloved member of our music community, serving for several years as bass/baritone section leader in the choir, singing with Schola, and working with our children’s choirs. Many at St. Paul’s know him not only for his rich voice, but also for his musicianship and enthusiasm—especially when it comes to teaching and sharing the foundations of singing.

This recital marks the completion of Juan’s Artist Diploma at the University of Arkansas, an important milestone in his ongoing musical and professional journey. It is both a celebration of his accomplishments and an opportunity for our parish to support him as he takes this next step.

Juan José García is a Mexican-American baritone, born in Illinois and raised in Arkansas. He began his studies in choral music education and voice at the University of Central Arkansas under the direction of Dr. Wolfgang Oeste and Dr. Robert Holden. He later earned his Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Arkansas, where he will complete his Artist Diploma this spring under the guidance of Dr. Moon Sook-Park and Dr. Jonathan Stinson.

Juan has performed as a soloist in a variety of concert works and operas, most recently appearing in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Tosca with the Soo Opera Company in Michigan. Earlier this year, he was accepted into the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where he will spend six weeks continuing to refine his craft alongside other professional musicians.

All are warmly invited to attend this special recital. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Juan’s achievements and to enjoy an evening of beautiful music together.
