“The Strike” Film Screening
Thursday, June 26, 2025 • 6:00 p.m.
Join us on June 26 for a special screening of The Strike, a powerful documentary chronicling a statewide prisoner strike in California protesting inhumane prison conditions, especially the widespread use of solitary confinement. This moving film sheds light on the human cost of mass incarceration and the urgent need for reform.
Proceeds from the event will support two crucial initiatives led by the Arkansas Justice Reform Coalition (AJRC):
Car clinics, providing community support and resources for justice-impacted individuals.
The Hummingbird Project, a revolving bail fund that helps people charged with minor offenses in Washington and Benton Counties secure release while they await trial—often up to 90 days.
Pretrial detention is the leading cause of jail overcrowding in Northwest Arkansas. It separates families, disrupts employment, and disproportionately impacts low-income communities. As AJRC puts it: "Our jails are the second most expensive room in town after Washington Regional."
Come watch The Strike, learn about the fight for justice, and help make a direct impact here at home.
